Yes, floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall mirror installs are a specialty. Large walls are usually covered with several precisely cut panels seamed together, because a single sheet that big is impractical to handle and transport safely. We plan the seam layout so the joints are minimal and clean, and we make sure the wall behind is flat enough for a true reflection. The finished result reads as one continuous surface.
Heavy glass and mirror panels need to anchor into something solid, so we locate and fasten into wall studs or blocking rather than relying on drywall alone. Depending on the project we use a combination of mechanical fasteners, clips, mirror mastic, or a channel system. Drywall by itself can’t safely carry the weight of a large panel over time. During the site visit we check the wall structure and choose the mounting method that will hold securely.
For large vertical panels and anywhere people gather, tempered safety glass is the standard choice. Tempered glass is heat-treated to be much stronger than regular glass, and if it does break it crumbles into small dull pieces instead of sharp shards. For mirrors, we can add safety backing so the glass stays together if broken. We’ll recommend the right glass type based on where the wall is and how it’ll be used.
Yes. We template the wall during measurement and fabricate cutouts for outlets, switches, thermostats, and other fixtures so everything stays accessible. Precise cutouts are part of what makes a custom glass or mirror wall look finished rather than improvised. Getting these right is why we measure on-site instead of working from rough numbers. The panels arrive ready to install around your existing features.
Walls are rarely perfectly square, so we measure carefully and account for out-of-plumb corners, sloped ceilings, and existing trim. The glass or mirror is then fabricated to those real dimensions rather than a standard size. This is the whole point of custom work: the panels fit your wall, not the other way around. Bring any known quirks to the consultation so we plan for them.
Use a soft microfiber cloth with a streak-free glass cleaner, or a simple mix of water and a little vinegar. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh scouring products that can scratch the surface or, on mirrors, damage the edges and backing over time. Spray the cloth rather than the glass to keep liquid away from the edges. Regular light cleaning keeps a large wall looking sharp with very little effort.
Most residential walls are measured in one visit and installed in another once the glass is fabricated, and the install itself is often done in a day. Larger commercial partitions or multi-panel feature walls can take longer. Fabrication lead time is usually the biggest factor in the overall timeline.
